Between 66 and 70 did the factory install the solid steel donut gaskets or the composites on the GM HP cars with 2 1/2 exhaust. Thanks for the help

Re: GM Donut Gaskets
No one has a original GM car with a factory exhaust. I thought this would be a easy question. Can some one take a quick look please.I thought the factory installed the steel ones but am not 100% sure. Thanks for the help.
What are used when the cars are restored??? |
Re: GM Donut Gaskets
I think my '70 has the composite pieces but I can't say for certain. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif I also have a '69 Nova with original exhaust, but it's not the HP version you're asking about. I've only had these cars for 37 years so there's still a lot I don't know about them. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif
I'll take a look tonite. |

Thanks Dennis. It is appreciated. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: GM Donut Gaskets
For what it's worth, both cars have the composite gaskets. Like I said earlier, the Nova is a low HP small block with single exhaust so that may not be useful.
Wish I could be more help. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif |
Re: GM Donut Gaskets
Dennis I appreciate you taking the time to look. I parted a 8000 mile 67 Nova SS years ago after it was wrecked beyond repair and she had composite also.
Composite it will be. thank you https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
