insurance on project cars??

I own a few cars that are long term projects...(I have a few others that I'm working on that are first in line)...it may be a few years until I start some of them(optimism:)...Some are all apart, but they are real cars and at this point worth too much to not insure... The last time I checked my current company would not insure them. Any help??? Thanks

guys the word is, she cant insure a roller up front, if you pull the motor for work/service after its insured that is fine.

my car was running/driveing two weeks ago before service work began so I am ok, but dragging home a field car would require it to run then come apart for Service.

dont quote me, give them a call but that is what I was told today.

Being in the business I can say that on occassion a carrier will insure a project if there is an existing policy with restored/completed vehicles already on it. Contact your carrier specifically and see if they will accomodate you, Haggerty has done this in the past

Re: insurance on project cars??

In reference to vehicles under restoration, how this is handled really depends on the size of the collection. The standard underwriting response is that they want the vehicle 80% complete. However you can purchase a vehicle intact and then begin restoration on that vehicle and it will still be covered. I have many clients with cars under restoration that are less than 80% complete. Therefore, it will really depend on the size of the collection and can vary between clients. If you have a specific questions relating to your policy I would suggest calling me to discuss. Thanks, Tami Perto
