I feel I know Jeff Byrd pretty good, as I have done business with him straight handed, and I have NO doubt what he did was tough, but correct. The man just does NOT cut corners, or challenge any event's or his facility's integrity.

Well then he or somebody sure screwed up. I can only imagine the impact on peoples wallet when they have that race planned and now have to change everything

I don't know how you can blame Jeff for bad concrete... that's pretty ridiculous

Ridiculous would be to take on a project or re-do the track with the possibility that it would not be ready in time for a MAJOR race. I call it bad planning and bad luck

I don't think it was unreasonable that Jeff Byrd expected the concrete to be ready in time for the race, in the middle 90's Savannah Internation Airport poured 200 feet of concrete at the intersection of 9/27 and 18/36 between midnight and 6am and had 757's landing on it by 7am. So, with the correct mixture this would be a no-brainer.
