69 RS/SS 396-375 Camaro
My 69 396-375 has a date code of 04L on the trim tag. What does this mean? I thought they were A-E. Thanks

Re: 69 RS/SS 396-375 Camaro
Could it be a "C" or an "E"? If not it would have been the 12th week of April - was that a leap year https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif ?
Seriously, welcome to the site. When I lived in Pittsburgh I met my wife who lived in Murrrysville at the time (graduated from Gateway H.S.). |
Re: 69 RS/SS 396-375 Camaro
The CRG database has quite a few 04L Norwood '69s. They are interspersed with 05A dates. No one has any idea what, if any, significance it has.
Having spent my entire career in manufacturing I would bet it means something. There are far too many 04L tags for that to have been an error. Remember the body tag meant nothing to Chevrolet assembly so the issue would have been with Fisher body. |

My 69 JL8 Z/28 is also dated 04L.

Re: 69 RS/SS 396-375 Camaro
I had always heard that the 69 pace cars that were at the track were dated 04L, is this true?

Re: 69 RS/SS 396-375 Camaro
No, that is completely untrue.
