BE code 12-bolt in 1970 Nova non SS

I was looking at a 1970 non SS Nova that was originally a 4-speed with a 350 motor and 12-bolt posi rear end. The 12-bolt rear end had a 2 digit "BE" rear end code instead of the 3 digit code I expected to see. The car was built the last week of October 1969 and the rear end was stamped for the first week of October 1969. I did not look at the casting date on the center section to verify the date code but is it possible that this could have come from the factory with this combination?

Never heard of a 70 Nova with anything greater than a 3:55 gear...BKH

Are you certain it is actually BE?
Check in front of the BE stamp real well for a possible staggered or lightly hit C off to the side.I've seen this most commom on early builds, being a new format for 1970 assembly.
I ask because I looked at one that resembled a CBE once, that turned out to be CPE-3:08 Posi.
