Re: just picked up christine car..
It won't run like christine with that 318 in it. To be "period correct" you could build an old 392 hemi for it. If it were mine I would put a stroked 440 in it with an automatic over drive. It's gonna take a ton of torque to get that thing moving. Any pictures?

Re: just picked up christine car..
The 318 he's talking about would be the polyspherical cylinder head 318, which was seen in certains forms with dual four barrels. It is not the small block 318 of the late 60's and seventies.
Post a photo of the engine and we'll see if we can tell you what it is. |

Re: just picked up christine car..
I dont think there's much weight difference between an old 318 poly engine and a 440 especially if you throw in a later aluminum torqueflite. 57 and 58 both weigh in around 3500 to 3600 or so. 400 B blocks can be made into 500 inchers too. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Re: just picked up christine car..
The Fury for '58 ran a 350 CI dual 4bbl motor.
