Will there be 2009 TransAm too?
 

Does anyone know if GM is planning to do a new TransAm to compliment the new Camaro? Not too keen on the Camaro looks, but I did see some renderings a while ago of a new TA that looked great (to me).

GM cancelled the rear wheel drive Impala and a couple of other cars from the lineup that were to be built on the same line as the new Camaro. They will need something to fill the void as Oshawa can probably build all the Camaros that the market can take in a couple of months. A Firebird would be a natural as they always used most of the same parts as the Camaro anyway.

Scott Settlemire and Lutz have both said it isn't going to happen. They will be focusing on the G8 for Pontiac.

Here's a picture of the 300HP G8 GT. Stay tuned for the GXP model which will have a 6.2 litre engine with over 400HP.

The TA is a no go. They want to focus on one car to maximize profit of the line.
