Floor shift boot ring & carpet ring ID?
 

Can anyone identify this rubber carpet ring? I believe both pieces came off the same car, possibly a Chevelle. I can't find the number that's molded into the ring in any of my books.

Verne - You have found parts for a bench seat 4 speed car that are quite difficult to locate. I believe that they are for 1964 thru 1966 Chevelle and full size cars. The metal ring goes over the rubber boot that is located at the base of the shifter handle and gets screwed to the metal floor (under the carpeting). The carpeting should have a slightly rectangular hole in it so it can be dropped down and over the shifter handle. The vinyl carpet ring is a trim piece that goes around the hole in the carpet. Can I ask what your plans are for these parts? I recently spoke with an individual that has a 1965 bench seat 4 speed impala and needs these pieces.

Thank you for answering my query. The guy I got these parts from years ago said they came out of a Chevelle he owned, but did not specify the year. I do know the rubber carpet ring is *not* correct for '64 full size because I've seen those and they are more of a "0" shape rather than this "O" shape.
I will pm you regarding my plans for these parts.

I don't think that carpet trim piece is right for '65-'66 passenger (the '66 piece is more rectangular which I think is the same for '65?). I'm trying to remember what the '64 Chevelle piece is like but thought it used the same trim piece as Nova. I'll look in my parts book for the Chevelle number.

Paul - You are correct, the '65 & '66 carpet ring has more of a rectangular shape to it. I thought it was a little difficult to determine since the picture was taken from the side and not from overhead.

Well, I didn't find that trim piece in my parts book or even what group it should be in. '64 Chevelles uses a different boot and retainer than Novas. Both pieces appear to be a Chevelle piece but maybe someone with a later parts book can find the number.

Just in case anyone is interested in the result of the investigation, I found out that this carpet ring is correct for '64-'66 Chevelle. In fact, this one is nos, because the assembly plant stapled it to the carpet and this one has no staple holes. It took awhile, but I just thought I'd share the findings so others would know.
It's going to my buddy who's building a '64 ElCamino bench seat 4-spd.
