I agree completely, the big block and L79 intakes moved away from the 3 hole carb flange around the same time. I don't think your two cents was worthless...thanks for the support. I am going to try...

I disagree. It pre dates the Z28 "production" hi rise...and it is almost identical. It seems almost certain, to be one of the earliest prototypes leading to the Z28 assembly line version with casting...
