I do know the rear window stainless was black on rear window louvred cars. It was on my 71 'Cuda

I use a similar product to replicate the Cosmoline. It actually looks more like original Cosmoline than Cosmoline!...

Looking at original cars will show exactly where the person was spraying from. I don't think they ever looked at the factory bulletins!...
