I do not have definitive knowledge, but a cast iron thermostat housing certainly does not seem correct for ANY 69 big block to me. I know that my low mile 325hp 69 SS396 convert has an aluminum one...

That makes two of us. I would love to see some documentation to prove that this was a factory option....IH was not exactly known for hi-po options. Very nice vehicle regardless.
