Default Re: Significant 1969 Muscle Cars

The criteria is this;
1. Car should be a single year model
2. Car MUST be a "top of the ladder" model, meaning the hottest performance model offered.
3. Car must be a show-stopper!

1. Dodge; Hemi Daytona, (check)
2. Pontiac; Trans Am Convertible, (check)
3. Buick
4. Oldsmobile
5. Ford
6. Mercury
7. AMC
8. Chevy
9. Plymouth

Well, if the car needs to be a "single year model", obvious choice would be

1969 Hurst/Olds for Oldsmobile.
1969 Dodge Daytona for Dodge
1969 ZL-1 Camaro for Chevrolet
1969 SC/Rambler for AMC

When you say "hottest performance model", that sort of eliminates any of the ragtops (too heavy), but as for the other criteria, they were indeed "top of the line" (most expensive).

As for power and high price, the ZL-1 Camaro fits that bill nicely.

For Pontiac, the 1969 Trans Am Convertible, with the standard RAIII, is the the most expensive, but not on par performance-wise with a 1969 Firebird RAIV Coupe.
