Re: As the Auction Turns
I look at it like having my car at a shop. I feel it is their responsiblity to return my car to me in the same condition as when I dropped it off. I always feel uncomfortable dropping off my vehicle for service. Many times I have returned and it is left unlocked which is irresponsible on their part. The shop usually has a sign up stating "not responsible for lost or stolen items." That is BS if they dont secure my property like I left it. I have only had a problem one time, I dropped my truck off for some warrenty work, after servicing it they left it parked next to a dumpster, the wind blew the door to the dumpster open into my truck denting the rear quarter. They called me, manned up to the damage, provided me a rental truck and fixed the damage. How it should be, I never even saw the damage.
RS and the tent company bear responsibility and in my opinion should keep the property in their possession in the same condition as it was dropped off. They should have sufficient insurance to make the customer whole again. On the other hand, anyone dropping off an uninsured car is accepting a lot of risk....what could go wrong?
