They are bots that are always searching the internet. Lots of times, the bots are bad (which is why you sometimes have to type a series of numbers and letters combined when you are signing up for something).

In this case, they are there (and searching) to 'index' the search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.) for optimization when you do a search from the main search sites. One of them is actually called a Yahoo slurp spider...LOL
