Re: Curious about 70 Yenko Duece from Maryland
Pete and Marlin - thank you both for the replies...I checked out the pics from when Dennis purchased the car and that is exactly as I remembered it...except I recall seeing a lot more rust than the photos reveal. The car was just outside Church Hill, MD, but Centreville is a more recognizable town around here. I also recall hearing the car ran a BBC and the pics of the headers confirm that. Also, the stories of the owner do not surprise me...from what I understand, he was pestered a lot about that car for over a decade. I recall a scoop on the hood...more of a Grump-lump style...but there's no hole in the hood?...I wonder if my memory is not as clear as I'd like to think? Everything else is spot-on. Not sure what the previous owner paid, but I was told $8k...but if I had shown the owner the cash, he may have changed the price. Odd duck for sure. Also, I am pretty sure the car left Church Hill after the Spring of 1991. I was married in April of 91...and went to see the Deuce just before I bought a '30 Model A project in July 91.
Congrats to Dennis...the restored result of stunning!
