Besides being known for its use of "fresh, never-frozen beef," Wendy's hamburgers also have a signature square shape to them, unlike any of their competitors. Why? According to Thrillist, founder Dave Thomas took the phrase "not cutting corners" seriously. More importantly, he wanted the burgers to be square because the patties stick out of the bun in a way that showcases the meat's quality. Clever man he was, that Dave Thomas.
