I was watching a Los Angeles-filmed movie from '69 called 'The Model Shop' this weekend. Great, great scenes of late '60s L.A. Anyways in one scene my eyes bugged out at this - I know Max Balchowsky who built the Bullitt Mustang had a shop in L.A. "Bullitt" was shot in San Francisco in April '68. The model shop was shot in L.A. in June '68. Maybe McQueen was taking one last spin after filming? Or Balchowsky brought it back to his shop and was tooling around? I dunno... long shot, probably out-to-lunch, lots of Highland Green '68s with aftermarket wheels in LA circa June '68 I am sure, but something sure does look familiar about the stance of this 'Stang. Hi-def versions of this screen grab are not available but the license plate is dark with yellow letters for sure. Got an actual grab from Bullitt here too...
