In the early 60s, I was with the Air Force at Misawa Japan (northern Honshu). When clearing the runway with snow blowing trucks the snow would be so deep on the sides of the runway when a C-130 landed or taking off all you could see was the top of the tail!! Heard some of our F-100 pilots say it was like landing in an alley. TAZ
