I've had the car since 1985, and it's never had a shourd on it, so I don't know what was there originally.

Any help is appreciated.

If your L30 Malibu does not have A.I.R, A/C, or HD radiator, it's safe to assume it came with a steel shroud.

If it has any of those options, it may have a plastic shroud, or a steel shroud, even though the parts books would indicate it should be plastic. L79 muddies it even further. Perhaps the answer is buried deep in the ECL codes?? Also, the plastic shroud part number changed mid '67.

Most plastic shrouds I have seen were on, but not limited to, '66 283 with A.I.R. I have '67 Chevelles in my garage that dispute the parts book.

Sorry for the ramble, Maybe pix of you Malibu?? - Bill W
