After welding up a few cracks in the original subframe, I decided to use my spare subframe and pull the original for a few reasons. 1 for safety 2. I let a friend use my welder to build a smoker
So I used a spare subframe I have that is in excellent shape and needed no repairs.
I swapped the original control arms to the "new" sub with exception of the lower RH as it was too rusty. I used the drag link, tie rods from the new subframe as they are in fantastic shape. The draglink has original bluing visible when removing the undercoat. I also swapped the trans crossmember and frame stands. I have saved the "born with " subframe for a future restoration.
I will not be using the booster or metering valve in the photo as they aren't original. The control arm bushings and ball joints are new. I reused original hardware that was in great shape.

I also installed a late 66 date 1967 steering box and correct pitman arm. The 69 box that was on the car with the 5.8" desirable 69 pitman arm needs a rebuild and I decided to go with a 67 box and pitman rather than rebuild the 69 box. I'm listing the 69 box for sale.
