Steve, That reverse switch adjustment on the column goes back into the '50s. The switch bracket had slots just for that. The shop manual actually explains how to adjust it.
Those little clips you found look like they'll work fine for the flaps, but be aware that they will scrape paint off when you attach them.
Next time I drop by, how about a ride in the Viper???? Not sure if I'll FIT though.......
