I took around
800 pics at BJ and Pavillions and Dave's collection (basically Tuesday through Sunday)...and I replaced the batteries 3 times. Itook a fair amount of fill flash pictures, also.
I buy the batteries in bulk at Costco...so it's not really expensive. I haven't tried the rechargeable batteries yet....Hmmm
One other cool thing about the Fuji is that there are two digital viewfinders...one big square one on the back like most digital cameras have...but also a small one where the viewfinder on a normal 35mm SLR camera would be...I use the smaller one most often...it's more comfortable for me that way (I'm used to a 35mm SLR camera) and it uses less battery power that way. Those big viewfinder displays eat batteries like crazy...something else to consider when buying a camera
