Default Re: Any list of where '69 Camaro ZL-1s are?

Another story... (and after remembering this story, my dad must have gotten the car while on leave from the marines.)

My dad was on the rifle team at Lamp Leguene. He enlisted at one of the worst points in his life. He was headed down the wrong path and needed to do something. After he enlisted they went through the basic stuff and then they had to go out to the shooting range. After they all shot, they told everyone to leave, but told my dad to stay. He was to pack his bags as he was going to the rifle team. Turns out he had broken the range record. Anyway, he was in the marines for his two years and then he had had enough. They offered him $10,000 to stay plus a promotion, but he declined.

He headed home to Anson, TX from North Carolina in the camaro. Somewhere along the way, he got pulled over doing 125 mph. The cop followed him to a rest area where he asked all sorts of questions about the car. He ended up giving my dad a warning, but told him that he was going to call ahead to all of the other towns and he better not be speeding when he got to them.

Shortly thereafter it began raining very hard. As my dad slowed down for a 4-way stop on a cobblestone street, the car began to slide. He did 360s the entire way through the intersection. It was at that time that he told himself that he was too tired and his reflexes were too shot to be driving that fast.
