Default 1958 Scarab replica

1958 Scarab continuation. All aluminum hand crafted body, tube frame, independent suspension, disc brakes (inboard rear as original). Built to accurately replicate the first original left hand drive Scarab raced by Lance Reventlow. Engine is Dart/Chevy small block bored and stroked to 383 cubic inches and dynoed at 485HP. Electronic Hilborn injection with splayed stacks like original, hidden electronics and lines under valley to look period correct. Magneto distributor by Summers Brothers front mounted like original including Scarab electric water pump. Tremec five speed, Winters quick change rear, lightweight battery with remote terminals, racing fuel cell, painted aluminum racing style headlight covers included. Pin striping like original by Von Dutch era artist, Bob Bonds. Hand done gold leaf on doors as original. Detail is accurate to original Scarab number 16. This car is also number 16 in the continuation series. Suspension is not harsh, but smooth and compliant for normal driving. This car is very fast and winds to 7,000 RPM instantly, weight is approximately 1,900 LB.
The two original Scarab sports racers have each sold for $7,000,000. A third sports racer was commissioned by Lance’s brother in the 80’s and that Scarab is actively raced by Tony DeLorenzo.
Titled in my name as a 1958 Scarab. Any questions please contact Tim at [email protected] $130,000.
