Default Re: 69 SS nova big block car ????

Will;
I see you posted this on the Nova site!! What has convinced you that this is a big block, and a 375hp one?

QUOTE:
"I am conviced that this is a 375 hp car,I bought the car and it is now at my garage,it did have the GM 1/4's,and it only has 61000 miles on it.
the I bought it from told me he would call the previuos owner and see if he can track down the orginal block.

the car was found in a field in 1980 with a blown motor and 23600 miles on the clock,it was bought and a new 396 dropped in and driven for a few years then sold to some guy's that drag raced it for a few years,they started striping the car for fiberglass and a tubb job,but lost interest before cutting anything.thats when this guy bought it in 84-85,it's been in the garage ever since.

it's nice to see it on its way to a restore again and not heading to the crusher." END QUOTE.

BTW; After studying the pics on your site, I see the car still has the trans crossmember in it. Check the underside where the bolts go through to the transmount, and let me know whether there are two oval openings or one square opening.
