The Protect-o-Plate (POP) is a small stamped metal plate that was provided with each vehicle by the factory as part of the warranty and service package. It was atttached to the vehicle's warranty booklet. When the vehicle was sold, the dealer added the customer's data name and address to the metal plate via Dymo-type stamped plastic adhesive labeling.
