Chuck, my car isn't street legal yet, but I have driven it on our dead end, country road a couple times. The cam is an NOS old school 280H I hoarded for many years, so the idle is that old ragged sound and it doesn't really smooth out until about 2,500 rpm. Not near as efficient as the new grinds, but sounds the part for a '66 Chevelle.
I agree with the near zero traction, even with 3.31 gears and 295/60x15 radials. The neighbors got to experience a little of that last summer, when the tires started going up in smoke at 20 mph and the tach hit 3,500.
