So i'd like to chime in here. As I am the owner of this car if there are any details that are being left out that you are curious about. No I am not lying nor am I uneducated on these cars. The car is still a very big mystery and there is a lot to unfold. I found out about this car through this link of a posting back in 2001 when the car was found in the original owners possession https://www.camaros.net/threads/1968...ed-help.24412/ They had gotten in contact with dick guldstrand and had confirmed a few things on the car such as the matching Mondellos porting service stamping on the heads that was exclusively who Dana dealers used to port cylinder heads. As well as stating CE blocks were used for transplants on these cars. Now as I stated I dont know everything about this car so a lot is a mystery. I was able to find the original owner to this car but have only been able to talk to him through his son as the original owner is blind and is very old. The only information I have gotten is the cars origin which is El monte California sent to dealer R.V Dorweiler Company (as per NCRS report). The car although being a 68 was not titled nor sold until 1969 when then owner had purchased the car brand new. Since getting in contact with them I have not gotten much information other than the car was for sure bought new with the L88 in place and quite possibly a Dana converted car (not originally sent to Dana) (I don't hold my breath because of course paperwork is king, word of mouth is not), being stamped with the mondellos porting service on the head. It is not set in stone as I do not have paperwork. Since my original encounter I have tried numerous times to get more information from the original owner and his son even offering monetary compensation, they keep opening my messages but continue ignoring me. But please dont signify me as a liar. Ive already been offered a fully restored 67 SS Camaro for my heap of a 68. I am not trying to put this car back together for monetary value. I am doing it for myself. This car regardless of what I find out will not leave my possession as it was a car my father have been piecing together parts for, for the past 5 years until he died of terminal brain cancer. I will update you as I find out more information on this car as time goes by. I will also keep making content in strides to make it original and put it back to what it once was, the big question is who the hell put in the L88 before being bought new in 69? I am trying to verify that it was Dana. If it ends up not being Dana, it doesn't matter to me one bit because it will still end up with the same engine that went into the car before being sold brand new. If anyone wants to fact check me on lying I can PM you the name of the private investigator who found the original owner for me. All in good faith I just want to figure out this mystery and hopefully someone has some clues to it still.
