Default SCR 19

As usual, had a great time at the Annual SCR.

Unfortunately had to miss the BBQ Thursday evening, but made up for it on Friday, as Jason took the leftovers to the track for lunch. The brisket and corn were really, really good.

Things were a little late getting started at the track on Friday due to some liquid sunshine, but once the skies cleared, racing was on. First everyone made several time trials mixed in with some grudge race, and then it was time for the COPOPETE Shootout. I honestly believe the shootout may have been the highlight of the weekend for a lot of us, even for the ones like me who got “trailered” early. Lots of awesome burnouts, wheelies, gear banging and side-by-side racing.

Friday evening at the banquet was the usual great time, good food, visiting with friends, lots of neat door prizes and a raffle for a good cause. The banquet provided a chance to honor our “man of the year”, Dennis Cumby, and tell a few Howie stories.

Saturday the indoor show was a big hit with folks visiting the museum, by far the largest crowd at one of our reunions. Amazing how many Corvette folks took the time to view our cars, visit with owners, and of course, take lots of pictures.

I for one cannot wait until we do it again!!!
