Where is the vin stamped on a 70 Monte Carlo with a 402 plus turbo 400? Where on the trans?

I have seen the VIN stamp in one of two places on a 70 TH400...

1...edge of trans bell housing...near the top on pass. side

2...on the flat top surface just above the pan....near shift arm [driver's side]
