A friend of mine owns a nice '64 El Camino that was originally optioned with a remote osrv mirror (which is now gone). We've been noticing VERY high prices paid for a few of them, so I was wondering why? Is that mirror, by any chance, part of the '65 Z-16 package?? That might explain it.
Thanks Verne |

yes, Verne the Z16 had the osrv remote mirror standard. It was also available on chevelles and Malibus as RPO Z13.

Thanks. I kinda figured that must be why NOS ones are selling for $1500. & up. I think my buddy's going to have a hard time finding one he can afford for his lowly El Camino....

I've restored many remote mirrors....very difficult to do correctly and finding a good plater is on the expensive side....I've had great service from Jon Wrights Custom Chrome..Find a used one and tear it apart.....You may even have to replate the NOS ones....Doubtful they still look good after 40+ years of box wear.....
