I found a trans tag for my Elky Muncie. Anyone know the correct location for it? I assume it goes on the shifter fork cover? But which bolt?

Bill,
I've found them on either the bottom front or bottom rear bolt. Attached pic shows an original at the bottom rear bolt. |

Thanks Rick... I understand from Jim, you guys will be in Nashville, and at the Best Western. We're coming down with 6 Chevelles and an old El Camino. Looking forward to it...

1968 model year and older Muncie's will almost always have the tag on the lower forward most bolt, so it doesn't interfere the back-up light switch...
1969 model year and later Muncie's could be either of the lower bolts on the side cover... If a customer doesn't say where they want the tag, I usually use the forward bolt, as I've seen more virgin Muncie's with the tag there, but either is correct... Hope this helps... Crash |
