Back around 1998 I purchased a 67 Nova SS 4 spd from a guy in northern New Mexico. Along with the car I paid a little more to include what he said were authentic Grumpy Jenkins ported and polished ZL1 heads, They have heavy duty valve springs, and the repairs to the rocker arm stud bosses usually associated with early aluminum race heads. The market for truly special cars and parts in my area sucks so I was planning to have them machined and put back into use on my 540 race engine. Before I actually go through with it I would like to offer them to someone who can truly appreciate them, put them to good use and maybe increase the value of the right vehicle by many thousands of dollars.
Here are a couple pictures, I can take more if you want, You guys are the experts and I'd appreciate any input. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

----I once had some work to do on a 66 427/425 Corvette and noticed that the heads had been "massaged". They werent dated to the car and the engine had to come apart for other reasons. I found a set of correct dated heads and kept the massaged heads when I found "Ported by Jocko" stamped on both. You older California guys ought to remember his name well enough. The heads were beautiful, but I never seemed to end up with the right project and eventually sold them to Dennis Tracy. Wish I would have kept them!......Bill S
