Default 69 Camaro Spoiler

I now these were painted off the car.

Was the underside of the factory rear spoiler painted?

Did they paint the underside at the tips where they extended beyond the deck lid?

Just the cover was painted, but not the area around it?

Yeah, I would also like to know, as I am planning to paint mine tonight.

Went ahead and applied on the underside that sticks out past the deck lid. Can't imagine it would be done any other way. It would look terrible with the trunk open.

Sorry for the quick reply. The metal covers were installed with the phillips head screw, and then the ends were painted from the bottom. My original paint car had the plates not installed to straight, and there was all most enough paint to create a run on one side. Thought I had some pictures but can't find them.

No problem Mike. I just got to looking at it and figured that's how it had to be. So.... I painted as you described, except I put the plates on straight.

Was thinking I could coat with dp90 then spray my topcoat, but this thing is too wavy. GM spoiler I bought in the 90's, so I am waiting right now before applying some K36 which will get blocked at least once before topcoating. Compared to all the imperfections in the GM grill I bought in the 70's it isn't too bad. Quality control left a bit to be desired. Got the grill painted today. What a PITA getting decent coverage of silver. Shot it with DP48 before topcoating with silver. The 48 is white, so it won't be that noticable if I get a tiny rock chip.
