Default WTB 70 LS5 or L78 Chevelle convertible

I am seriously looking for a restorable 1970 LS5/454 or L78/396 Chevelle convertible. (Don't think there are any unrestored L78's known and for sale though). Color is not as important as original BORN WITH drivetrain and REAL paperwork/history. 4-speed is also pretty important as well as buckets and console. Please reply privately via PM or my email address listed in my profile. All responses will be answered immediately. VERY serious buyer but I do not want junk or fake (tribute) cars. Thanks sYc.
Rick

Still looking. There must be a restorable convert out there somewhere.

I think anything available has morphed into a "real, fully documented" LS6 convertible by now

I thought the non cowl hood L78 got the dual snorkel air cleaner though ... ?

Not all the non cowl SS cars got the dual snorkel air cleaner, you could also get the open element air cleaner as well.
The build sheet will verify what it had though

Thanks for the link Jim. Unfortunately that car is already restored albeit an exceptionally well restored car and a well known car/owner. I am looking for a convert needing restoration though.

Typically you see the early cars with the open element and the later cars with the dual snorkle.

I've never seen a factory equipped 1970 L-78 Chevelle with a factory installed (CO) dual snorkle.
As far as I know,it wasn't possible to get a dual snorkle on a 1970 L-78 equipped Chevelle while being assembled.
That BB Dual came out later on during 1970,while the L-78 engine, which was only available for roughly the first 90 days of production, had long been discontinued on the Chevelle.
Open element (SS) or Cowl Ind.(DG) were it's only possibilities.
