Default TI Ignition Installation Instructions

Hello SYC, I am looking for a copy the GM Transistor Ignition installation instruction sheets or a copy of the COPO 9560 ZL1 1969 Assembly Manual Instructions (specifically the pages covering the TI installation). If you happen to have an available copy please contact me. Thanks Andy

It would be nice if someone had one to post it on the technical restoration forumn for all, I have a March 69 Z11 L48 survivor with TI but it is not on the window sticker and would love to find out more information on it.

My thoughts...

Thanks SYC

TI specialties website has wiring diagrams. Lots of other info as well.

Not full blown instructions, but you can probably figure out the rest knowing the amplifier mounts in front of the radiator.

GM's mo for the day was to tape such a harness to an existinig harness.

Also, a very informative article over at CRG with instructions.

http://www.camaros.org/trans_ign.shtml

Speaking of TI stuff, anyone have an original plate and a repop one to compare. Just wondering how accurate the repop is.

Here is one of the repops:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Camaro-Tran...r#ht_895wt_1008

Appears to just be a flat piece of 1/8 sheet metal with holes punched in it. Is that correct?

I have a complete 1111267 distributor set-up less the plate. Even have an extra nox wire harness. Am toying with the idea of putting it on my car, although Eric says I would be better off with the MSD 6AL system. The TI set up just looks cool though.

One more TI question: How much is an original Delco brown distributor cap for a 69 ZL1 worth? Don't believe I want to sell it, but would like to know a value.

I don't know that much about the TI ignitions and components, hence my requesting the instructions as mentioned in the CRG write up. I have most of the components except some of the odds and ends, I think. I am putting an aluminum 427 in my 69 chevelle and have decided to go with the factory look, even though they never put one in from the factory. I know the brown caps appear occasionally on ebay, I picked up an NOS one for less than $300 for my 1111927 distributor. I appreciate your info and will try to track down the info at the site you mentioned. Thanks, take care Andy
