Default heat shield, quadrajet

the thin heat shield that goes on the the quadrajet,s should under the base plate of carb. or down on the manifold face down? [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif[/img]

The gasket goes on the intake first, then the stainless shim, and the carb on top of the shim. Note the gasket and the shim both only go on one way.

CAUTION -- Just make sure none of the linkage hangs up on the shield!! Stuck at WOT sucks!!!

I believe they are talking about the thin gasket that goes with the cardboard gasket. Nothing aftermarket or unstock if I am reading it correctly Taz.

The closer I read that I think you're right -- at first, it looked like foster was talking about the heat shields that covered a portion of the intake. Good catch! The TAZ
