Last night I hooked up with a buddy of mine at a local car cruise.
Mine is the Top Banana Yellow 440 4 Speed Dana Rear. My Buddy's is the Sublime 383 4 Speed. In 1970 they only made 3753 R/T S.E. cars in total for this one year model. Here is 2 of them in High Impact Colors. CHALLENGER R/T S.E. production count>>> SPECIAL EDITION 383 motor=2,522, 440 motor=875, 440+6 motor=296, 426 Hemi=60 Total production for R/T S.E.=3,753

No doubt, beautiful cars. '70 Challengers are some of the best looking cars of the muscle car era.

Also, what constitutes an R/T vs. a standard Challenger? I'm a mopar neophyte.

I agree that the rear view is pretty cool. - also, I was under the impression that the rear "bumble bee" stripe was rarer than the side stripe. Unusual to see two together like that. Here's another one:

![]()

Bergy, that is not an R/T S.E. model, it is the regular Two door hardtop R/T Challenger coupe model. The third model was of course a convertible. 1970 was the only year a Challenger had 3 different models. Here are the production numbers for a Two door hardtop R/T coupe which you can get with an optional vinyl roof that came with the full size window (Tiny window was only available as standard equipment with the S.E. model). 383 motor=9,067, 440 motor=2,802, 440+6 motor=1,640 426 Hemi=287 Total of 13,796 Two door Hardtop coupe.

Here is another R/T S.E. with a high impact color of Plum Crazy.
Love the yellow Bumble Bee Stripe And right next to it is a Go Mango R/T S.E. Mopar had the best colors
