So are the W023 Coronets desirable? window sticker, build sheet, automatic, one owner, original Hemi missing in action. if I purchase original paint no rust will not be restored I am thinking it needs a vintage correct engine however.

They aren't chopped liver but as Super Stock Mopars go, they're kind of the odd man out. Still desirable, though.

One of the best to ask is Scott Smith as he is rather knowledgeable about them. Lots of guys looking for an original paint car to see how they were assembled. I know Joel Nystrom had been looking for detail shots.

As I recall, all were white, autos and 10.25 CR Hemi's. I think they look tuff.

There were 4-speeds too. Automatics had a reverse valve body.
All were 440 hardtops or, on the Plymouth side, Belvedere II hardtops. I have Scott's email if you need. |

Thanks for the information guys, it is white/black interior automatic I do understand there were some 4 speed cars. Where do you look for a vintage 66 date coded 426 motor?

Roy - The good news is there were no stamped engine/trans VIN's yet....that started in the 68 model year.....so technically it wont be "matching" but it wont be wrong either. '66 street hemi production was, I think the highest and a lot of the Hemi's floating around for sale are of that vintage.

What's the build date on the car? I assume you're talking Sept-Dec '66 date coded engines?

Hemi engines can have a wide casting date to factory install date time line. You'll want an expert to give you an appropriate period of time before you purchase your engine. If you have a long period of time for what would be considered an appropriate casting date vs. the build date of your car, this could give you more options and may save you money.

They only made 55 WO23 Dodge Coronets, all of them were white. Most were Torqueflite cars (16 4-speeds I think)
