I saw "supercarbob" was selling Lakewood decals for traction bars a couple years back, but he hasn't posted in over a year. Anyone know if just the Lakewood decal is still around? I don't need the "Traction Action" decal. I need them for my bars that I'm about to re-paint. I'd like some decent ones that aren't going to start curling and pealing off.
Sorry for the bad pics, but they're all I had handy with my bars installed. Thanks. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Those small Lakewood decals are everywhere..On ebay for nothing.
Traction Action decals are only for the serious direct bolt on street-strip bars that used the j-bolts. The same bars without the j-bolts ( no welded on triangular piece under the bar) were called "Traffic Action" --street bars...and the decal did say "Traffic Action" Your universal bars are ok for the small triangular decal but to be correct the Traction Action was never on them. 4 small original decals sold for $3.95. If you go to nay swap meet in the country you will see them by the handful for 50 cents each. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SET-OF-4-ORI...MAAOSw9KpXAC~h |

Finding vintage ones are the hard part...ones with NO "R" like the Cragar caps..no "R" or trade mark.

The set of bars I restored only had the traction action on them. No lakewood sticker

How the heck do you mount the eBay bars pictured? I haven't seen them without a spring perch mount before? I do have a spare set of restored Lakewood bars with extended tails if anyone needs them.

Looks like rear brackets clamp to the back of the lead spring allowing a little "wind up" before the snubber hits.
What style are the ones you have that are available?

Those bars the the universal type Lakewood made. Very inexpensive back in the day and they still make them. about a 1/3 of the cost of the real deal bars. |

The key to those bars is "shimming" the back to get the snubber closer to the spring -- also, raising the nose up so they are not lower then the tire rim ... if a tire fails, you don't want the nose of the bar digging in. TAZ
