Default New Year, New Goals. What’s your plan?

Welp, it’s that time of year again. The time of year we say goodbye to a previous set of disasters only to set ourselves up for yet another set of disasters with many of those being the disasters we said we’d fix last year!

So with that, what’s your disaster relief plan next year?? On the automotive menu, what are your appetizers, entree, and dessert selections?

For me, I’ve got several;

1. Get the Crusty Cuda ready for paint.
2. Get the body for the BMW 507 project built and home safely
3. Find a car to bring to MCACN (which I think I did)

So what do you have going on? Post up and let us know!!!

Cheers

Dave

Bill: I will drop off a flux capacitor when I pick up my floor mats. :-)

My 2019 Muscle car related goals:

Reduce my ET by one tenth..... I am going back to excercise classes solely to reduce elapsed times :-)

Complete the 40 item list of small items to “complete” my Cutlass. (Never done)

Start freelancing for MuscleCar Review, Bone Stock & Modified Muscle Cars, and Hemmings Muscle Machines. (I don’t care if they want me to or not, I am just going to start submitting kick ass stories with kick ass pictures and see what happens)

Plan and start a MSU Project W31 V2.0 build. (I have already started the discussions with the students, not sure how this will work) there are a dozen “students” and 3 geeks so it will take some careful deliberations to find a Project that honours the Project W31.

Plan and build a down and dirty, crazy low dollar 1969 Cutlass S or F85 on a convertible frame (6 banger and three on the tree is already on order) to drive year round. I will try driving an old car.... it has to be possible!!!

Hit the drag strip for the first time ever!!! I plan to race at a local track early in the summer, then NOCC (Northern Ohio Cutlass Club.... but it is all Chevelles....) then my absolute ultimate pinnacle goal of building my car....... PSMCDR.....

I plan to volunteer at a local hot rod shop one night a week to gain experience, maybe Legendary Motor Cars needs a CSO??? chief sweeping officer?

I plan to do one of my hair brained plans involving a local high school, kids I hire as tradespersons or future tradespersons need to do some stuff before asking to work for me, (I often wonder how I worked at an industrial factory on night shift by myself at 19 taking care of whatever electrical or mechanical issues came my way?????) I feel I need to be part of the solution like Mike Rowe

I think these are my top items. If I took some time I know there are more!!!

Get the Chevelle done in time and without going broke.

Get caught up on customer restorations so I can plan my retirement in 10 years LOL.

Hire another resto tech and get our new storage warehouse organized.

Get Annie's Honey Do list done.

Lose 20 lbs (if I get all the above done that will happen naturally).

Any plans I may have had for buying a muscle car in 2020 will have to go on a back burner. Major goal, in fact only goal, for 2020 is to buy a house - current rental lease expires in July. Really don't want to extend it another year. Based on my market (ABQ, NM) I am going to have good news: price of homes here is stagnant/dropping and bad news: interest rates are going up.

Like Doug, I would like to get my Camaro into the 10s. Doug already did it, so now I want to do it. Maybe the tunnel ram and 5.29 gears will get me there, and learning to shift gears quicker. I also need to sell off a bunch of these parts that are sitting around that I'm never going to use.
