Sold FS – 1970 - 71 OEM Cuda Challenger Shaker Bubble

For Sale: One used 1970 – 1971 OEM Shaker Hood Bubble for Cuda or Challenger. Price is $2500 plus actual shipping costs if required.

I was going to post a “what is it worth” here first but decided to list it for sale instead. You guys will probably share your value opinions either way….

As you can see, this bubble looks horrible on top. I realllly wanted to completely sand it down and prime it at the least, but felt it was better to let you evaluate the condition it as-is without hiding anything.

Decades ago, someone (not me) started sanding this bubble down in very random spots, then gave up. The lighter bare sections you see are NOT body filler, just the exposed fiberglass type of material under the paint. If you run your fingers over those spots, you can feel the areas are rough and slightly recessed, not filled.

I inspected this part closely looking for cracks and/or other issues. I placed tape arrows in the areas that I could identify. FYI – the stud bosses all appear to be in good condition, but three of them have broken stud pieces remaining inside of them. Overall, this part is in very good condition for its age, but of course will require a proper restoration.

Price and Value: I sold an OEM original shaker bubble years ago for $1000 and it was not in as good of condition as this one. Hopefully the market price has gone up since then, but if not then it will have to be adjusted accordingly. I’ve been searching for OEM bubbles for sale, but just haven’t found any bubbles that were available or sold separately. My Cuda car and parts collection has long since been sold, so I’m out of touch on current values of this stuff.

I’m listing this item only on SYC first, and if not sold via this venue, then it will be listed on Ebay.

This part can be physically picked up from my home in Petaluma, Ca 94952, or I can properly package it for shipping via your preferred method (shipping costs to be paid by buyer).
