Default air cleaner bases

What are the applications for the different drop down air cleaner bases ? The 2 different ones that I have, have the breather tube "turned" differently.
One is angled to exit towards the passenger side-rear, and extends beyond the edge of the base approx. 7/8".
The other exits straight out the passenger side and is almost hidden underneath the base.

Thanks for your time,
Kent

Kent, I believe there were three different bases - one for 350 4-speeds, one for 350 automatics, and one for all big-blocks and the 302. There may be more info on the CRG web site.

Thanks Joe,

I spent the better part of an hour "looking" for the information. Ended up submitting a question.

I own several. One I know is L-78, the other base has 3 rubber plugs and no tube. It was with a black lid that had 302/290hp. GM original worn sticker on it.
