69SS396 Camaro. Is the "L" bracket that supports the distribution valve on the passegger side of the master cylinder plated gold irridite like the booster or painted semi gloss black? I have consulted several publications and have viewed many photos that show both.

I checked into this same thing a couple of years ago. One of the top professional restorers on 69's confirmed it to be Gold Irridate. I suppose this is always open for debate though. Mine is a Chevelle but I wouldn't see it being different on the Camaro. Just my $.02 worth, good luck.

Semi-gloss black is correct for the (L) bracket on passenger side. The proportioning valve bracket (drivers side heavy bracket) gets gold cadium dichromate.
