Why would an x44 come with disc brakes and 12 bolt posi?..could you even order them that way...Im sure this is bs but if someone is close may be worth checking out?

Because the car is a "Norway" car that's why.

What I don't understand is why there are several pics with the differential in the car, and many pics without the differential. What purpose would that serve?

I don't see the tailpipe hanger plate on the left frame rail. Looks to have been a 3-speed manual trans car. The tranny tunnel hole looks stamp cut and the shift patten plate on the console looks to be a 3 speed. Although, a Norway built car would be pretty rare; almost to the point of non-existence

Also, the 09D build date (which was around the time GM reset the BDY #'s), the 290723 body number and the 619804 VIN don't add up. VIN would indicate an early March '69 car (03B?). Misstamp on the tag?
