I went to bolt on my new 15x7 American TTO 5-spoke wheels on my 1969 Camaro and the wheels do not clear the front brake calipers. I was able to make the wheels clear with spacers but it does not leave much thread for the lug nuts and it puts the tire closer to the fender edge. The person I bought the wheels from said that they are not returnable because I mounted tires on them. I thought they addressed the clearance issues on these wheels. Does anybody have any suggestions?

That sucks... if a 15x7 4.75 bolt pattern torq thrust won't fit a 69 Camaro, they made a huger error in the specs for these wheels, as i would bet that a very large percentage of people buying these wheels will want to use them on 69 Camaros. I had the "other" new TT's (rounded spoke versions) on my camaro in a 15x6 and had no clearance problems... backspacing was identical to the stock rally wheels... I know thats also true of the 15x7's... don't know why they'd make the TTO's with a different backspacing. Wheel spacers suck though, maybe modify the calipers a bit? are they hitting the caliper or just the caliper brackets? I had a vintage set that rubbed the brackets once, but they were 14"s... IMO, I'd put those suckers on ebay and go find a "real" old school set of em...

I think the problem with this particular car is that it has 68 style calipers on it, not the smaller 69 calipers. See this: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show.../page/0#212370

The wheels will not clear a four piston caliper. I had the same problem on my 69 with JL8 front calipers. I had to use longer wheel studs and a small spacer. A little bit of agravation to find correct length wheel studs but worked out.
