Does this pad look right. 67 Chevelle, 11A car. 396-325 car??

Can't tell much from the picture, I bet the 030 is from an engine rebuilder. Many would stamp a code on the pad for warranty reasons.

EK is L35 396/325 w/ a glide..

Are the Vin stamping fonts supposed to be this big...these appear almost as big as the Build/Suffix fonts?.

I agree the 030 is probably a rebuilders note...maybe noting 30 over?.

What bothers me is difference in hight of suffix letters?

I had a 67 Chevelle a couple of years ago...same engine/trans...Fremont,CA car....the stamping was similar but the "7" for the year was kind of floating off to the side...I think it was discussed here and others had seen similar stamps...maybe it makes what assembly plant installed the engine...

It looks like a legit pad stamp to me. Sometimes they would stamp the first letter of the suffix at one point and than later the other after they knew what the horsepower was. With the 409 in my 65 Biscyane, Tonowanda stamped the J first and the A is lower, so I think it was done once they knew it was a 400 horse engine and not a 340.
