I am thinking of changing the wheels on my 1970 SS Nova to a set of 14X7 XT painted steel wheels and dog dish hub caps. The car has a build date of 03D 1970, what date codes for the wheels do you guys recommend? Would mid March be to close? Thanks in advance.

Late Dec, Jan, Feb Early March would work and be correct. If you are pursuing a date matched set of XT's, pack your wallet as Chevy moved to the CL coded 14x7 steel wheel later in the 70 model year, those XT dates are kinda rare. If you find a complete set, buy it. You'll go nuts hunting down singles in that date range.

The Novas received the XT wheel as late as 06B in '70, so if you find wheels dated later than your car it wouldn't hurt to pick them up if they are reasonable - they might become good trading material down the road!
