I have a early 80's bolt on drive shaft loop, the loop came bare metal so I just painted it black. I was wondering if the brand name drive shaft loops came painted and what color they were? Looking at late 60's early 70's for color choice.
Thanks Bernhard

I just checked my NOS Lakewood and was cad plated...I have others that are bare steel & NMW are painted Orange. PTX member on here will know more on original colors IF they were painted at all.

I've seen many NMW bare steel, but one that was NOS was that burnt orange. You can tell the NMW loop by the single holes and the Lakewood are dual in parallel. I can't say what early Lakewood loops were, by by the 1980'same they were cad plated like Dave said.
Post a pic of what you'be got. |

Here is two NOS NMW & Lakewood with a third NOS powdered coated NMW from Plowman/PXTX. Looks like the Lakewood is a bigger loop.

Thanks Dave and Paul for the help. I would like to post pictures but I lack the skill at this time.
The loop that I have is a generic brand like Mr Gasket that was popular in the late 70's./early 80's The loop has four holes like the Lakewood loop. Whats kinda funny is I made a copy of the generic loop back in high school from one that my brother had.My friend still runs the one I made in shop class back in 1980 and is what got me thinking about day two drive shaft loops. I was just over at his house and he has his car apart for a frame off and parts to the loop were on the work bench. Of the two brand name hoops is one heavier built than the other?
