Default What do YOU Like in an Indoor Car Show?

As many of you know, several people have approached me about being involved with the launch of a brand new car show with an emphasis on Supercars and Muscle Cars.

In researching what works and what doesn't work and what people really like, I figured the best place to go to find out is by asking YOU, the true enthusiast.

Please let me know what it is that makes you want to be a part of a show, whether as a participant or as a spectator.

I am committed to continue to "raise the bar" and to be a part of what could become one of the best Muscle and Super Car shows this year, and hopefuly for many years to come.

If you prefer to not post your thoughts on the forum, please feel free to e-mail me directly at [email protected]. (Note; please delete the bashton@autorama e-mail address as I am no longer employed by Championship Auto Shows, Inc.)

Please limit this to show idea's and feedback and let's not turn this into a bash session for any past or present shows.

Also, anyone interested in staying "in the loop" on my future developments, please send me your e-mail address as I need to develop a fresh data base.

THANKS;

Bob Ashton

What do *I* like in an indoor show? I'd have to say it's the track rental the day before...

j/k Bob...I'm sure whatever you do will be awesome!

You're the Pro, Boss. You know what works and what doesn't.

"What would I like in an Indoor Car Show?"

Easy answer; Bob Ashton and the sYc! Everything else is gravy.

(OK, maybe an indoor go-kart track. )

I'm like Rob. I would rather see a little action too. In the past, at indoor shows, I have noticed that people will crowd around any show display that has a racing video showing. Big video screens with some racing etc. might work. Perhaps having a few celebrity car builders/restorers for people to talk to might be a plus. While I can appreciate the work that goes into restored cars, they are more or less all the same and I have been around them since the mid '60s. Not a lot new there for me. That's not the case for most people though. Race cars brought back to their original racing condition is something that I really like. Stuff like Red Alert and such cars. Each of these are unique. Just some thoughts from an old guy.

Better food.

I always thought the McCormick Center was fancy with the nice floors and the white ceilings over the last place. Can you talk them into spraying the ceilings and the floors? 8 years ago every pic I took turned out like a million, now they are a tad gloomy. Thats the only bad I can say about it.

Tom will be here. He's just waiting on his stimulus check before he books his flight.

BTW Tom, I hear Carrot Top may be in town that weekend.
